One bright sunny weekend (yes there are some in England) we took a trip to the opposite end of London to visit Richmond Park where wild deer roam free!
Richmond Park is one of the largest parks in London, covering about 1000 hectares and home to the Red and Fallow Deer. While we didn't get to cover all of Richmond park, the area we visited was very open giving a magnificent 360 degree view of different herds scattered around the park.
As we walked along one of the many paths in
the park we spotted a Fallow deer buck grazing close to the road. He was obviously used to humans and he kept grazing as more and more people started gathering around for a picture. He had large antlers so we kept our distance but still managed to get some nice pictures.

After a snack we set off through the chestnut wood to the high point of Richmond Park which lets you see all the way to the city and St Paul's Catherdral. Even though the sun was out it was not a very clear day and a thin haze covered the buildings, spoiling the view somewhat.
Even though we only covered a small portion of the park if felt like we had visited every square metre and our aching feet told us it was time to go home.
