Just after Christmas it snowed in London, not just the typical little bit of snow that melts the next day, but that lasts for a week. It started on Sunday night and by Monday morning the ground was covered in about 10cm of snow. Of course as this was an abnormal weather event and with all slightly out-of-the-ordinary weather events in England the country shut down. It was quite strange to be in London with no buses travelling around. Some of the trains were still running so Scott managed to get into work that day but most of his colleagues did not make it in for that day or the next.[Scott] The city of London was pretty amazing that day - snow was everywhere
and it was obvious that people were not used to it. People where falling and slipping over everywhere I looked. Some people were prepared however and brought their snow boots so the snow didn't phase them too much. It took me aout 20 minutes to walk to work - a trip that would normally take under 10 minutes.It snowed for about 2 days in total and we ended up with about 15cm deep of snow. he front of our house and watching people come out and play in the snow. The snow stayed around for most of the week however by the next week my snowman was little more than a small pile.

It was nice to get the full winter experience as snow in Queensland or actually anywhere in Australia is pretty much nonexistent. The whole event made it feel like it was Christmas all over again.
