re days where the sun was out and we both decided to head off on the train to Windsor to visit the Queen. It was about lunch when we arrived and we went for a walk through the market which was on the in town and picked up some food and had a wander. Windsor is a really nice place to look around and with the sun out made it even better.We headed up to the castle and got in the queue to get in which was re
ally quite long. The castle was really nice, there were well kept gardens and a brass band playing and the view over Windsor towards London was fantastic. Even though it was sunny when you got in the shade it was freezing!After wandering around the buildings we headed off to the state rooms which were open. I am glad they were as it would have been a bit of a boring visit if they were not as there is not much else to see other than the state rooms and St. George's Chapel. St George’s Chapel was closed when we arrived so we headed off to visit them.
To get to the state rooms you go through the room which contains Princess Annes doll house. Which I must say is pretty cool there is a lot of detail on it and if you are into dolls houses it’s probably a must see. The state rooms were very nice quite different to Hampton Court and others we have been to. It
was interesting to see where the fire they had a few years ago had taken over the castle and how it had been repaired.After we had been through the state rooms and taken photos of the Queens entry (she was in apparently) walked back through the shops to the station to go home enjoying the sun while it was still out.
